Gus Kalaris founded AXIOS, super premium Napa Valley wine brand in 1999 to much acclaim. The success of AXIOS spawned the WORTHY, TELIOS, TRUTH and KALARIS FAMILY VINEYARD brands. Gus, a Greek American, born in Washington, DC is fluent in the Greek language and dedicated to his heritage. Gus Kalaris has received numerous awardsand national recognition for all of his charitable endeavors and still continues to serve on many charitable and philanthropic boards, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Cal Ripken Sr Foundation. His proudest achievement is the raising of his family. His daugther, Sophia, has now joined the business and enjoys learning from and working with her dad.

Inspired by our passion for great wines and the incomparable
beauty of Margaret River, we settled on a rugged cape, where
two deep blue oceans meet and a vast continent ends. With
very little resources but a bucket load of freedom and
ambition, we planted some of the very first vines of the
region amongst the native marri trees. Everything
was crafted from scratch including our rammed
earth buildings using the local soils. From this isolated corner
of the world, we strived to forge the reputation of Margaret
River capturing the raw beauty of our wild place in each wine
we make.
